Forest Strategy Pty Ltd. provides marketing, certification and organisational advice to the forest, fire and timber industries. Principle consultant Gary Featherston has 30 years experience in public land, forest, fire and natural resource management. He is a registered forester with experience as a public sector manager in senior roles as Marketing Manager for Forestry Victoria and acting Chief Marketing Officer of VicForests. He is manager of a group scheme for forest growers certified to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards. The scheme is available to any grower that achieves the standard. The standard requires forest growers to minimise chemical use and favours mechanical and natural controls. Growers in the group are growing their trees largely chemical free.
