Title: GrazeAway

GrazeAway was started to restore habitat and control invasive weeds using goats and without the use of herbicides, especially in sensitive areas such as waterways and riparian zones. Amongst the commercial work GrazeAway does are freeways, reserves and railway lines, and we still do small private backyards. It's one thing to control weeds and plant tube stock, it's another thing altogether to see native grasses and sedges growing that have not been grown in a nursery and planted. The breed of goats we use are South African Boer Goats, some smaller, others larger according to need. Goats are great for steep embankments and managing fuel load ... they graze out the blackberries and maintain the grass to a suitably short level. It's amazing to see them target the weeds and yet leave the indigenous grasses and sedges. And, best of all, "l can't believe how cute they are". | Website |
