Title: Environment Tasmania Inc. - The Conservation Council

Environment Tasmania is a not-for-profit conservation council dedicated to the protection, conservation and rehabilitation of Tasmania's natural environment. Australia's youngest conservation council, Environment Tasmania is a peak body representing over 20 local environment groups, with collective representation of over 5000 Tasmanians. GM crops pose risks to the environment and health. Concerns include: cross-pollination of GM crops with weeds to develop herbicide resistant traits, which increases the use of more toxic herbicides; unknown and potentially adverse health impacts on insects and animals that consume the GM plants; liability issues associated with the contamination of non-GM crops by GM varieties. | Website | Contact |
