Weed control is the most important aspect of successful re-vegetation. Without weed control seedlings are unlikely to survive. In a dry finish to the season, weed control will markedly improve seedling survival over summer, and in a wet year, weed control improves growth rate over summer and into the second year.
There are several methods for working with weeds to create successful revegetation projects. After all, weeds are pioneer species and can rapidly create cover to protect soil and provide habitat. For more information on the available techniques, visit our Direct Weed Management section.
