[Stock & Land 22 Sep, 2011] -- An Australian based company has come up with a way to get more glyphosate into each litre of the herbicide. Previously, the benchmark has been about 540 grams of glyphosate a litre, however, Imtrade Austalia has managed to push this figure to 625g/l. It is now the world’s most potent glyphosate herbicide. The international patent for the high loading glyphosate soluble concentrate, one of the most used herbicides in the world is now undergoing assessment and registration by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). Registration is expected to be completed in the next six months. Imtrade Australia Managing Director Dr Ross Rainbird said the new high loading glyphosate was the culmination of five years of intensive work at the company’s Kwinana laboratory in Western Australia. The news will be welcomed by farmers, who will be now able to do more area per tankload of spray, cutting fuel costs.
