Title: Floods blamed for spreading serrated tussock in Victoria
[ABC News 12 Jan 2012] -- Last year's floods are believed to have spread invasive weed further across Victoria's Wimmera. Department of Primary Industries' officers have found several juvenile serrated tussock plants in a gully system near Stawell and Armstrong. The Department's Brian Howlett says while landowners have worked well to stop the weed from spreading, vigilance is still needed. "We are asking landowners, particularly those surrounding those areas where we've already got serrated tussock established, to keep an eye out for those weeds but we also ask those landowners ... to be careful when they're moving stock and machinery," he said.
