Title: The Weed Society of Queensland sponsors The Weed's Network
The Weed Society of Queensland (WSQ) was formed in 1976. It aims to promote wider interest and investigation of weeds and their control through education and the dissmentation of information and ideas based on research and practice. It cooperates with and affiliates with other organisations who are engaged in related activities. It seeks to recognise achievement in weed science and management through several awards. The Weed Society of Queensland also aims to foster interest and involvement in weed science and management by granting funds to assist individuals or groups to conduct activities or attend conferences and symposia. For example, WSQ is sponsoring the Queensland Pest Animal Symposium (QPAS) to be held at the Sunshine Coast Function Centre, Caloundra, 2nd August, 2012.
