This webinar aims to illustrate the role that private interests play in delaying actions that are intended to prevent adverse health impacts from toxic chemicals and waste. This event is timely because it comes before the upcoming negotiations at the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG-1.2) from January 30 to February 3, 2023 to plan the creation of a science-policy panel for the sound management of chemicals and waste and to prevent pollution (aka an “IPCC for chemicals and waste”).
Each speaker has made a major contribution to uncovering, analyzing and communicating the role that private interests have played in delaying or preventing action when action was needed. They will be sharing their insights and “lessons learned” so that we can avoid the same or similar delaying actions in the context of this new science-policy panel.
